Being more Eco-friendly and trying to live a healthier life are a few of the buzz that I have noticed for 2010, but for me they are not just buzz words or fads. I believe they need to be something that each and every person truly takes a look at and makes an attempt to be more conscious of as we move into the future.
For me I am putting my (and my families) words into action. Our “experiment” doesn’t have a name yet, but we as a family have decided to undertake it starting in April of this year. What we have decided to do is see if our family of five can survive moving out of the 4 bedroom 2-1/2 bathroom home that we currently rent in downtown Coeur d’Alene and purchase a travel trailer that we plan on living in through the summer (and if we all survive) possibly through the winter.
What better way to lessen your carbon footprint right?! Whether it will be a less expensive way to live, or with the cost of storing our belongings etc., it turns out to be just as expensive as living in a full size home only time will tell. During this we are going to try and still eat as organically as possible, recycle, and keep doing the things we have been doing.
There will be a lot of things we will have to adjust to and things that will have to be figured out in the next month as we prepare to step out into the great unknown, but during all of it I will of be blogging and videoing this adventure…the good, bad, and I quiet possibly…the UGLY:) So stay tuned and feel free to add your comments and suggestions.

Have you spent an extended amount of time in a “travel trailer”? Your experiment intrigues me! I will definitely be following your adventure. Good luck!
I have not:) That is what is going to make this a true “experiment”. The most we have spent in a travel trailer or camping in the wilderness has been 6 days. Should be interesting. Thank you for the comment!
Jaime! You will have so much fun! My ex and I did this when we were building a log home in Wyoming. Spent from June until January of ’95 in a 35′ fifth wheel trailer with four little ones. Have to say though, that when winter came and and ice formed on the inside walls…..it was time to find warmer digs! Enjoy your adventure!!
